The Death of the Grey Badge

Facebook has announced that by the end of the month it will be removing the grey badge feature for businesses. What does this mean and does it affect you?

The Grey Badge was used to denote a legitimate business on Facebook. Their justification for removing the feature is that they believed it was confusing for users to differentiate between this and the Blue Verified Badge.

Facebook say that they are working on a new verification process, however in the meantime businesses will have to put in additional effort on the platform to prove the authenticity of their page – and also keep an eye out for any other pages claiming to be connected to the same company!
